Some FAQ's About Classes;
Q: How are prices for Private Property Classes figured?
A: They are figured over the phone, while talking to you. I will first ask some questions about what you want out of a class. The next thing I will ask about is how many acres of land you have, and what kind of terrain/environments you have on it. (i.e., forests, fields, lawns, thickets, swamps, creeks, lakes, ponds, marshes, etc.) Then I ask where the property is located. I use these factors together to determine the price for the class.
Q: Why do that at all?
A: A different environment means different plants, and that comes with it's own special set of problems. Especially when being limited to private property with very small boundaries. For example; a one acre lawn with a wood line would be cheaper than five acres of woods and hills, with a lawn and a small pond. The reasons being the size, number of plants, and species of plants covered will be vastly different. Especially depending upon your skill level and what you want out of a class. All this effects time of class and what is covered in class.
Q: If class runs over does it cost extra?
A: No, what we agree to on the phone is what you pay after class is over. There are multiple things that can make class run longer than expected. Usually it's people asking questions, or just good conversation that class runs over. These things are expected and enjoyed by myself and hopefully you too! That is part of why I teach is to answer questions, as well as enjoying a good conversation.
Q: Do you have a way to record this information?
A: No, you are responsible for taking notes, pictures, and whatever else you need to remember what is covered. Recording a video while teaching a class would be impossible, however you are more than welcome to video record whatever you want during a class if you think that would help you learn better.
Q: Are prices per person?
A: No, prices for Beginner Classes, Park Plant Walks, and Regular Classes cover up to four people. Two adults and two children.
